According to a media report Ather Energy's upcoming family scooter is expected to be named Diesel and is set to be launched by mid-2024.

Earlier announcements from the Bangalore-based EV manufacturer confirmed their development of a new electric scooter described by CEO Tarun Mehta as a family scooter.

Uno Minda one of the suppliers for Ather Energy expressed pride in being part of the Diesel project. Xabier Eskibel Head of Marketing for the 2W Segment at Uno Minda highlighted the distinctive seat design as a unique feature differentiating it from other offerings in the market. He mentioned the challenges faced during development but expressed confidence in the scooter's appeal. Eskibel added We foresee a strong demand for the family scooter and are gradually ramping up to meet the expected market needs.

Spy images suggest that the Ather Diesel will boast a sleek design featuring a wide and flat seat along with a flat footboard. Anticipated features include LED lights a touchscreen instrument console alloy wheels and a front disc brake.
