FASTag KYC deadline extended with new date and additional details.

To facilitate a seamless toll collection process and curb the misuse of FASTags the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) mandated users to complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process by January 31 under the One Vehicle One FASTag initiative. Failure to comply would result in the deactivation of FASTags. However NHAI has extended the FASTag KYC deadline to the end of February offering users an additional month.

Previously both NHAI and banks were instructed to blacklist and deactivate FASTags lacking KYC. The recent information from NHAI's customer care indicates an extension of the deadline to February 28.

The One Vehicle One FASTag initiative aims to prevent FASTag misuse ensuring that only active FASTags are in use. It also encourages users to employ one FASTag per vehicle promoting efficiency in toll collection and reducing queue times.

For those unfamiliar with FASTags they are Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) devices designed for direct toll payments from linked bank accounts or wallets. Affixed to the windshield FASTags facilitate automatic toll collection on highways and toll plazas.
